Ballroom Dance
Come enjoy two hours of great exercise and fun as you dance and enjoy some refreshments.
Our fabulous dance instructor, Mel Carillo, leads our Monday Tea Dance, 1:00–3:00 p.m., with salsa and other music as well as the usual Big Band and Swing. Been a while since you danced? Stop by at 12:30 p.m. for a refresher dance lesson before the dance.
Want to learn more? In addition to our traditional Monday lesson, Mel has classes on Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Join us for one, two, or all every week! Call for more information.
Bingo
Every Friday, join us from 1:00–4:00 p.m. for the hottest Bingo game in town. Guaranteed prizes are awarded for every game and a consolation dessert for everyone else. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. for early seating.

Play Readers’ Theater
Play Readers are looking for a few good men to join them for their weekly rehearsal and monthly community performances in Rancho Bernardo and Escondido (with some breaks for vacations and travel). Typical programs consist of three to five humorous skits with a few jokes thrown in, sometimes modeled off of old radio shows. New members are required to do a short audition for the director, so if you are interested in exercising your acting chops, contact the Ed Brown Center for details. Play Readers’ Theater meetings every Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
Witty Knitters
This fun group meets every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Lots of knitting and laughing to be found. Yarn and needles available for our community service projects, making caps for newborns at Pomerado Hospital and baby blankets for our military families at Camp Pendleton.
Weight Watchers Meetings at the Center
Weekly, Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m., and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.
At Weight Watchers, you learn how small changes can lead to big results so you can lose weight and keep it off.
Every week there will be two Weight Watchers meetings at the Ed Brown Center:
• Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
• Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m.
Come check out this successful program that can help you get you healthy for the new year and going forward the rest of your life. Weight Watchers has proven to be very powerful with weekly meetings and team support to help you get and stay on track. Come check it out the 5th or the 6th and see if it’s something you want to do. We can arrange to have some of their great snacks for sale in between meetings. Weight Watchers works!
Note: Weight Watchers charges a weekly membership fee. Complete information will be available at the meetings.
Women of Distinction Group
Join our group for the woman who wants to get to know other busy women. We’re planning on going on outings, sometimes last minute – so if you have something you want to do and don’t have anyone else who’s interested in going with you, you’ll have this group.
Meetings are held "whenever," but there is something at least once a month.
Single, married, divorced, etc. – it makes no difference. Membership in the Ed Brown Senior Center at Rancho Bernardo is required – you are welcome to one visit before joining. The Center staff will keep an updated roster that will be shared with other members of the group. They will arrange the monthly meetings and other planned events. With the roster, staff will be able to e-mail members last minute to get a few women together to go to events that you’d like to attend, but don’t want to go alone. Or with the roster you can contact members last minute to find someone to go with you to whatever excites you at the moment. Even if it’s just for a cup of coffee. Call the Center for the latest event or to be placed on the roster.
